"Is there any truth to the rumor that NHRA is trying to drop the Alky classes"? Mike Covaine, Clovis, NM.
Mike, The rumor mill is really spinning….NHRA is the GREATEST sanctioning body of Drag racing in the world! They are NOT going to drop TAD or TAFC in fact we hear they are doing more for the class then ever before!

"We miss you and the crew! When are you coming back out"? Desi Allred, Phoenix, AZ
Desi, we miss all of our fans too! We are working feverishly putting deals and meetings together! No one wants to be out there more than my crew and myself! It has been real hard getting major companies to understand just what we can do for them…but one will choose us soon I hope!

"Kevin, what regrets do you have (if any) for not running yet this year"? Brett Michaels, Dallas, Texas
Brett, I have NO regrets at all! Sure I miss being out there but it will come! Good things come to those who wait! I know that when we come back out we will be stronger!

"On your sponsor page you show some names, are these companies still with you"? Tony J. Kent, Wash.
Tony, YES these people are committed to us…we have done a lot together and for each other! They assure me that they are with us through thick and thin! Racers EDGE has stepped forward and increased their involvement with our operations for 2003! Jerrod is truly a great person!

"I for one am sick and tired of those companies that won't see the light about motorsports all they want is to sell me something with no compassion! All they care about is my check book"! Your thoughts" Steve- Denver Colo.
Steve, it is true that some companies promote "we are for the people" but in fact they are for THEIR people only! This is a problem I have found with some companies we have met with…. I have turned them down COLD on a sponsor deal because I am not about me or the money! I will only deal with companies that I feel good about! This way of thinking on my part could keep us out of racing for a while…but I would rather not race then to endorse a company who is not real or true to what they promote or sell!

"What does it cost to run Top Fuel and TAD A/Fuel"? John Smith, Mesa, AZ
John, to be competitive in TF you can spend 5-7 million, a drop in the bucket for most companies considering what they spend on ignorant commercials and promotions. A/Fuel costs around 800-900K to run for the championship! I will run both in 2003 on a budget of 6 million! "How many steaks can one man eat" I don't need excess monies…I just want to run hard!

"Kevin, I own a small company, I have been following your race team for 3 years now wanting to get involved, I never thought I could (not big enough) Can we talk"? Jack O'Hare Oregon
Jack, if you would like you can call my Exec.V.P. of Marketing, Jason Scott at 801-706-5081 to see what we can do…Thanks, Kevin

"What are your interests and favorites off the track"? Stephanie
Stephanie, I am just a common type of guy! I love my family…My dog NITRO, old cars, motorsports art, people, BBQ's, playing pinball, cruising!
My FAV's:
Music: Rock, Jazz, some hip-hop, classical
Band: Creed, Rush
Food: Crab legs
Color: Black
Car: Escalade
Best friend: Jayne my wife!
Movie: Shawshank redemption
Drink: POWERADE!
Favorite things to do when I'm not racing: Hang out with my Family and friends! Thanks for asking…that was fun!

"Who was the biggest help in running the car last year"? Tom Jacobson Seattle
Tom, to answer this one I would have to write a novel! I will try…..My crew: Jayne, Ty, Scott, Barry, Kris, Mike….Steve Watson, Dana Hopewell, Ralph Freeman, Rick Henkelman, Gary Walters, David Baca….Racers EDGE (Jerrod Felix), BHDC (Zane Jeppesen), VISA, Master card, American Express, Discover card, My family, Fans, Friends etc. I'm sure I missed someone…I'm sorry if I did.
You see Tom, I get praised for what the car does…. When in fact I just drive it! This is and always will be a major team effort! Without these people NONE of this would be possible!

If we did not get to your questions this week, we will get to them next week! Please E-mail your questions and they will be answered! If you would like them answered here on "At the HIT!" let me know! I have had a lot of people who just wanted an answer but just not public! Be patient as we are getting around 100+ E-mails a week!
Been reading your post's on the Mater and really appreciate the passion you have for the sport and the people of drag racing. It's obvious you enjoylife to the fullest and I for one can't wait to see you tearing up the track
in Top Fuel. People love a person who can put a smile on their face, who better to put it there than the Joker ripping it up a quarter mile at a time.

Can you say Marketing Potential? I knew you could!

Regards,
Todd givens

Thanks Todd, Thanks for the support
