In
1979 Kevin got behind the wheel of his 1964 Ford F-100
and pulled up to the line, when the green light flashed..........
he was "hooked"
That
day was all it took, Kevin has been staring down the
quarter mile ever since!
In
1982 Kevin wedded his best friend Jayne and joined the
USAF where he was assigned to FE Warren Air Force Base
in Cheyenne, Wyoming. In 1984, He was blessed with a
son Ty...Living in Cheyenne did not stop Kevin from
the "Drag Race" scene, since Bandimere raceway in Denver,
Colorado was only 97 miles away and that wasn't a bad
drive. Next he bought a 1969 Mach I powered by a 428
cobra jet and a 4 speed and "off to the races" we go!
In
1988 Kevin left the USAF and moved back to Utah to start
his own company," Classic Restorations" where he builds
classic and antique automobiles, He then built a 1965
mustang fastback with a 351 Cleveland and power glide
which ran modest mid 11 second et's...but that was not
fast enough, so the next project had to be a much lighter
car with more power! along came an "Altered" with a
468 BBC injected on alcohol which brought him into the
8 second zone...he competed in the altered for 3 years
and won awards being the fastest altered in Boise, as
well as numerous best appearing awards! But again, still
not fast enough!
