XBalm racing/KBM Media relations
Well friends, fans and everyone else….I have had several e-mails and phone calls asking what in the hell I am doing….so here goes…since getting involved with XBalm (KTC) and the guys who own it (Kevin Ciampini and Todd Johnson) my work has not slowed down….in fact it was more than I could have ever imagined….the response from the general public showing interest in XBalm has been to say the least overwhelming…trying to get the product placed and out to the general public has been a task, but for me it has been kind of cool…meeting people and the fun part is I’m representing a product that sells it’s self….for those out there who have used it you know exactly what I’m talking about….those who have not tried it…..get your butts over to www.XBalm.com and get some ordered….This stuff if the BEST out there….I’m not just saying that because they are my sponsors….try some and you will get what I’m laying down here….anyways…the time spent putting info packs together and shipping them….contacting potential retailers plus the phone calls and e-mails…and well that’s my day…time well spent!!!!! Little time to do much else really but wait….. I have a race car…..
Mid season review and 2nd half projections…..
Pomona (winter nationals) well after testing in Vegas the week before the winters….we had changed a tiny little thingy…it was call the entire fuel system! We were right lucky to get it down the track…the car hit real hard at the step and wanted to go but it kept dropping holes and that my friends will not get ‘err done…. In short….I was the bride’s maid again….I don’t think Pomona likes me! David Summerill stopped by to say hi….Dave is the artist who painted the digger and one of my sponsors, Dave owns www.MuralsinMotion.com, and if you want some trick as hell mural work…there is NO ONE BETTER! Tell Dave I sent ya…..
Kevin and Todd showed up (XBalm boys)….it was real cool having them there…it was their first national…the look on their faces seeing all the fans was priceless…we took them to the staging lanes to see what it was all about….all Kevin could say was “You’re nuts!” Todd was digging it as well…we had them at the starting line for the burnout and launch…as I rolled through the water box I made eye contact with them….hit the loud pedal and I though both of them were going to come out of their skins….Classic….they had a blast…. “Can’t wait till the next race”-KC…wished we could have done better for them….never bet on a drag race right?.......my bad…The direction they wanted to go was maximum exposure i.e. big rig…..well I got on the phone to Michael Brotherton (Dallas motorsports only place to buy a big rig!) looking for a big rig….Michael had one and here we go…I struck the deal and flew to Dallas…Ty and Doug (Fowles) long time friend and owner of a trucking company flew to Cali to get the old rig and head for big D…..we started to swap all of the stuff from the old rig to the big rig….after 3 days we got it done and headed to Houston for the nationals…..
Houston We got there and was way short handed for a crew….seems some of the guys decided not to come….so Brooks and Ty stood tall and hit it hard….We Qualified…..next I hear a voice which sounded familiar “Got any joker juice eh?” it was my buddy Chuck (Lynch) from Canada….he and two of his buddies were there on vacation….he said you guys need some help…..I lit up with joy cause I knew it was going to be tough in the rounds with just Ty and Brooks… well first round we had Ashley Force and knew we needed to step it up for her and the Darien Meadows team…we lined up and I felt great….pumped up and ready to hit it….well, we overpowered the track and lit the tires… hey I wasn’t bummed out to bad…I went to Ashley’s trailer to give her the prize…I spoke with Jerry Darien and handed him a bag of “Nitro Orange” XBalm…he said what is this for…I replied “tell Ash that if you beat me you get plenty of XBalm”…..he laughed and said “always the joker…I will tell her … thanks Kev”…you see in my little mind winning is not everything….life is a journey and what you do with it is called happiness…I did my job in representing XBalm and had a blast doing it…my journey is going well…..off to Vegas….
Vegas Well that was a disaster…the air sucked and the wind was kicking up hard….short on crew again….XBalm fellas showed up and saw the big rig for the first time….they likey…..met a lot of friends and fans….Ty turned 22 on Sunday 4-9-06…(and yes ladies he’s single now) not a bad looking kid either…(thank god he looks like his mother) had a lot of people try the balm and loved it…told ya! Everyone asked where to get it in Vegas…I proudly replied ALL of the Shortline Express markets in the area sell it… (Shameless plug for my buddy Duane Shields) who owns the stores…. Kevin and Todd (KTC XBalm) had a good time and loved the action! What’s not to love? At the DRAG’S with Oakley’s on your eyes and XBalm on your lips, sniffing nItRo!..Life just doesn’t get any better than that! Well add qualifying maybe….did I say NEVER bet on a drag race?...
Mission BC I don’t think I was there…….OK I was but wished I wasn’t (nothing against my Canadian family) but I wish now I would have stayed home! What a mess…in short….I threw a $30,000 hemi under the bus! NEVER drive on emotion! NEVER!!!!!!I stepped on the throttle and struck the tires…then I lifted and hit it again….WRONG thing to do… MAJOR my bad! It has been a long road and the pressures on my back had got the best of me….I will NEVER do that again! Any hoo…off to the airport we go with my tail between my legs….
Projections As it sits right now we are planning on going to Indy (Utah boy takes XBalm to the U.S. Nationals), Reading, Dallas and the finals….plus some division races along the way….
I will try and keep on the press releases as best I can, I put in a request to have the hours in the day moved up to 36…yep that’ll do it…
I am sorry for any typo’s in this release…yesterday I couldn’t even spell race car driver….today I are one!
Peace, XBalm Joker!
